{"id":3821,"date":"2024-11-14T09:43:02","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T09:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cgda.eu\/?p=3821"},"modified":"2024-12-05T09:45:24","modified_gmt":"2024-12-05T09:45:24","slug":"study-on-a-potential-videogame-cash-rebate-in-croatia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cgda.eu\/en\/study-on-a-potential-videogame-cash-rebate-in-croatia\/","title":{"rendered":"Study on a Potential Videogame Cash Rebate in Croatia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemIntroText\">\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">As Croatia is preparing new incentives for the gaming industry, a study released at the 10th edition of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rebootinfogamer.hr\/en\/\">Reboot InfoGamer<\/a><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0projects that the incentives would push the annual gaming industry revenue to approximately 103 m EUR by 2029, alongside a workforce of about 500 fully employed professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5f7708077cf66e15c7de89ee\/t\/673367a4afbd00478fd10039\/1731422117318\/Croatia+Video+Game+Development+Incentive+final+report+2024-10-24.pdf\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">study<\/span><\/a>, which was commissioned by the CGDA and conducted by\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.o-spi.com\/\">Olsberg SPI<\/a><\/span>, also revealed that the Croatian video game development sector contributed 49.6 m EUR in Gross Value Added to the economy in 2022, supporting around 1,140 full-time equivalent jobs.<\/p>\n<p>An official date for the launch of the new incentives for the gaming industry has not yet been confirmed, but the new incentive programme is expected to be modeled on the successful\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/filmingincroatia.hr\/\">Filming in Croatia<\/a><\/span>\u00a0scheme for film and TV productions, which was introduced in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince 2021, the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/havc.hr\/eng\/about-us\">Croatian Audiovisual Centre<\/a><\/span>\u00a0has been co-financing video game development and production.
