Today, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković signed an agreement in Novska on financing the first phase of the Gaming Industry Center project worth 26 million euros.
Minister of Regional Development Šime Erlić emphasized that this is the first project financed from the Just Transition Fund and that this kind of center, which covers 9 hectares, is unique in the entire European Union.
The full project cost is around 60m€.
Below is the Prime Minister’s full statement:
“By adapting to new trends, new development directions, the counties of Nov and Sisak-Moslavina profiled themselves as centers for the gaming industry. A technical course for video game development was introduced in high schools, Ina’s building in Novska was adapted into a student dormitory where students from all parts of Croatia live, and in Sisak work is also underway on the Regional Competence Center of the Technical School. Work on partnerships with faculties and overall contribute to the development of the academic community. There is no doubt that the Gaming Industry Center project will not be unique. It will attract such an influx of young people that we will be surprised that everything was started from the entrepreneurial incubator in Novska. As the Government in the past period, we have made greater strides for this project than anywhere else, given that this county was hit by numerous accidents. The regional map for Sisak-Moslavina County has been changed. The entire area has the best conditions for investors. And with projects like this one, there is no fear for Sisak-Moslavina county.”
